KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has clarified that the arrears of the Nepal Electricity Authority's dedicated feeders and trunk line power supply will be collected in full.
Responding to MPs' questions in Thursday's House of Representatives meeting, Prime Minister Oli stated that the arrears will be collected by keeping the industry operational, not by shutting it down. "The government is clear on this; the arrears will be collected without cutting off the power supply lines."
He also emphasised that there is no discord between the government and the NEA leadership, refuting social media claims suggesting that the NEA is attempting to collect the tariff while the government exempts it.
On a different note, the Prime Minister mentioned that a system will be developed to ensure responses within three days for files requiring decisions in any ministry.
Additionally, he noted that the process of linking the national identity card and driving licence to the Nagarik app has commenced.
