KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs Arzu Rana Deuba has stated that her visit to India has significantly contributed to promoting goodwill between Nepal and India.
Speaking to journalists at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) upon her return on Thursday, Minister Rana said the visit has further strengthened friendly, cooperative, multidimensional, and close ties based on equality and mutual benefits.
Minister Rana mentioned that her visit has paved the way for promoting cooperation and assistance for mutual benefits through bilateral mechanisms and for expanding cooperation at higher levels and in various sectors in the coming days.
She noted that her visit was part of the programme for the exchange of high-level visits.
On this occasion, Foreign Minister Rana shared that she held amicable talks with the Indian Prime Minister and the Minister of External Affairs, focusing on issues of Nepal's welfare and interests as well as areas of mutual interest.
Minister Rana stated that during her courtesy call on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, they discussed expanding ongoing cooperation and strengthening the existing friendship between Nepal and India.
She also handed over an invitation letter to Indian Prime Minister Modi on behalf of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli for a state visit to Nepal.
This was Minister Rana's first visit since assuming the role of Foreign Minister.
