Pokhrel re-elected as NCC Lumbini Province president

KATHMANDU: Tanka Prasad Pokhrel has been re-elected as President of the Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) Lumbini Province for a second term. During the second general convention of NCC Lumbini Province, a new executive committee was formed under Pokhrel's chairmanship.

Similarly, Shreedhar Mahara has been unanimously elected as the Senior Vice President of NCC Lumbini Province, with JP Kandel serving as Vice President (District and Municipal), Chandra Prakash Shrestha as Vice President (Commodities), and Lok Hari Shrestha as Vice President (Associate).

According to the press statement issued by NCC, Shiva Gyawali has been elected as General Secretary, Ajay Neupane as Secretary, and Khim Bahadur Khatri as Treasurer.

Other elected members of NCC Lumbini Province include Yuvaraj Neupane, Jay Prakash Gupta, Kamala Parajuli, Sukdev Belbase, Tej Bahadur Budha, Naruddin Shah, Manju Bhusal, Yagyashwar Shrestha, Silpa Upreti, Ashok Shrestha, Ganesh Prasad Pokhrel, Kosh Bahadur Gurung, and Shankar Gautam.

NCC stated that the second general convention unanimously elected the executive committee for the next three years.

During the inauguration of NCC's provincial general convention, Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya emphasised that economic prosperity hinges on the development of the agricultural sector. He suggested that the state invest in modernising agriculture and attract young people to the profession. Acharya also highlighted the potential for economic progress through the agriculture and tourism sectors in the country.

Addressing the convention, NCC President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal stressed the importance of promoting local agricultural produce and maintaining policy stability for economic development and prosperity.
