KATHMANDU: Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak has emphasised the necessity of reinstating the Chhoti customs offices. These Chhoti customs offices serve as branches of the main customs offices.

During a meeting at the Central Revenue Leakage Control Committee held today at the Ministry of Finance, Minister Lekhak highlighted the importance of reopening the Chhoti customs offices that were closed during the armed conflict era. He affirmed the government's commitment to implementing measures aimed at achieving revenue collection targets. Additionally, he assured an official decision to resume operations for the closed customs offices that have their own land and buildings. Minister Lekhak expressed optimism that the functioning of the Chhoti customs offices would contribute to increased revenue collection.

Furthermore, Minister Lekhak requested the Finance Ministry to identify any weaknesses in the Home Ministry's performance. He also brought Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel's attention to the workload faced by the police administration despite resource limitations.
