NOC reduces petroleum prices

KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has reduced the prices of petroleum products.

A meeting of the Board of Directors of the NOC on Saturday decided to decrease the price of petrol by Rs 2 per litre, and diesel and kerosene by Re 1 per litre each, effective from this morning.

The price of domestic aviation fuel has been reduced by Rs 5 per litre, and that of international aviation fuel by $37 per kilolitre, according to NOC sources.

Similarly, the price of petrol has been set at Rs 160.50, Rs 162, and Rs 163 per litre in the first, second, and third category areas, respectively, while diesel and kerosene prices have been fixed at Rs 151.50, Rs 153, and Rs 154 per litre, respectively.

The price of domestic aviation fuel has been adjusted to Rs 132 per litre, while the price of aviation fuel for international flights has been set at $1,005 per kilolitre.

The state-owned corporation has categorised Charali, Biratnagar, Janakpur, Amlekhgunj, Bhalwari, Nepalgunj, Dhangadhi, and Birgunj in the first category; Surkhet and Dang in the second category; and Kathmandu, Pokhara, and Dipayal depots in the third category.

A press release issued by the NOC noted that the price of petroleum products has decreased in line with the new purchase price received from Indian Oil Corporation on Saturday.

Although the purchase price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has increased by Rs 35.11 per cylinder, the selling price remains unchanged for the time being.
