Govt to reward Paralympic medallist Goverdhan with Rs 6.5m

KATHMANDU: The government has announced a cash reward of Rs 6.5 million for Palesha Goverdhan, who secured a bronze medal at the Paris Paralympics 2024. 

Minister of Communication and Information Technology and Government Spokesperson Prithvi Subba Gurung informed that the meeting of the Council of Ministers on Thursday decided to grant Goverdhan Rs 6.5 million. Additionally, her coach will receive Rs 585,000, and the team manager will be awarded Rs 292,000.

Furthermore, the cabinet has approved a loan of Rs 600 million for the Dairy Development Corporation (DDC). This investment aims to support dairy farmers who supply milk to the DDC and facilitate technological improvements and business expansion.
