DAMAULI, TANAHUN: The construction work on Package I of the 140MW Tanahun Hydropower Project in Jhaputar, Rishing Rural Municipality-1, has resumed after a 51-day hiatus.
The project had been halted due to a payment dispute.
Project head Shyamji Bhandari stated that the joint venture construction company, Songda Kalika, has recommenced work following assurances from the relevant authorities to settle the outstanding payments through the European Bank.
To date, only 35% of the work under Package I has been completed. This package includes the construction of two diversion tunnels to redirect the Seti River's flow for the building of the project's 140-metre-high dam.
