KATHMANDU: A delegation from the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) met with the newly appointed Chief Secretary, Eknarayan Aryal, on Wednesday to discuss key economic priorities.
Congratulating and extending their best wishes to Chief Secretary Aryal, CNI office bearers discussed the issues that should be prioritised for the overall development of the economy.
CNI President Rajesh Kumar Agrawal emphasised the need for policy stability and legal reforms to foster economic development. He noted that while some economic indicators are positive, the productive and construction sectors remain stagnant. Agrawal stressed the importance of effective budget implementation and the increased use of domestic products to stimulate the economy.
Former CNI President, Hari Bhakta Sharma, called for simplified processes and greater encouragement for industries that provide employment, to enhance job creation.
Chief Secretary Aryal acknowledged the crucial role of the private sector in economic development and expressed his commitment to further legal reforms. He assured the delegation that tangible progress would be made during his tenure.
CNI Vice Presidents Birendra Raj Pandey and Amit More, along with executive members Gokul Bhandari and Director General Ghanashyam Ojha, also extended their congratulations and best wishes to Chief Secretary Aryal.
