KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Spikers, a volleyball team based in Kathmandu, has unveiled its new logo, a powerful symbol of the city’s rich heritage and the team’s determination to succeed.

As a franchise under the Everest Women’s Volleyball League, the Kathmandu Spikers represent a new chapter in the legacy of volleyball, the national sport of Nepal, with a mission to inspire and empower women athletes across the country.

Owned by Sharad Kr Tibarewala, the volleyball team aims to elevate women’s participation in sports across Nepal.

More than just a team, the Spikers stand as a testament to the strength and determination of Nepali women, committed to promoting sports and empowering the next generation of athletes.

Sudixya Adhikari, COO of the Kathmandu Spikers, expressed her excitement during the launch: “The Kathmandu Spikers are here to make a lasting impact. With the unveiling of our team logo today, we take the first step in our journey to inspire young women across Nepal. Volleyball is not just our national sport — it’s a symbol of unity and strength. We are proud to represent Kathmandu and look forward to making our mark in the Everest Women’s Volleyball League.”

The new logo features a striking combination of gold, silver, and black, symbolising the rich heritage of Kathmandu City. At its heart is a temple, representing the city’s spiritual core and deep cultural roots. Alongside the temple, a volleyball player in mid-spike is depicted, embodying the team’s strength, agility, and unwavering determination to succeed. This blend of tradition and athletic prowess captures the essence of both Kathmandu and the Kathmandu Spikers, making the logo a true representation of the team’s identity.

Sharad Kr Tibarewala, owner of the Kathmandu Spikers, emphasised the importance of this moment: “Unveiling our team logo is a significant milestone in our journey. It’s not just a symbol — it represents the dreams and aspirations of countless women who see themselves in the sport. We are committed to nurturing talent and fostering a love for volleyball in Nepal. The Spikers are here to compete, inspire, and leave a lasting legacy.”

As the Kathmandu Spikers team prepares for their debut in the Everest Women’s Volleyball League, they invite all to support their journey. With the team’s logo now revealed, the Spikers are ready to take on the challenges ahead with passion and determination.
