KATHMANDU: International Finance Corporation (IFC) has pledged to increase its investment in Nepal.
During a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel at the Ministry today, IFC's Regional Director for South Asia, Imad N Fakhoury, conveyed the IFC's readiness to boost its investment in Nepal, as reported by the minister's private secretariat.
The IFC has already invested $100 million in Nepal. The Regional Director highlighted that the promotion of green energy, job creation, and economic engagement are the IFC's priorities, and they are committed to further investment in Nepal.
The Finance Minister informed the IFC representative that Nepal needs more investment to enhance its economy, urging the IFC to consider increasing its investment in light of this situation, according to the minister's secretariat.
