KATHMANDU: SBI Foundation, the CSR arm of the State Bank Group, is calling on citizens of Nepal to apply for the 12th batch of the SBI Youth for India Fellowship programme. This 13-month programme offers recent graduates and young professionals a structured opportunity to work with rural communities and 13 NGOs across India, fostering meaningful social change.

The application deadline is Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
To qualify for this special drive, candidates must be citizens of Nepal and aged between 21 and 32 on the programme's commencement date, October 7, 2024. They must also strongly commit to advancing sustainable development in rural areas. Selected candidates must report to Tilonia, Kishangarh, Rajasthan on October 5, 2024, to begin their journey.

The fellowship focuses on 12 thematic areas: Health, Rural Livelihood, Food Security, Environmental Protection, Education, Water, Technology, Women’s Empowerment, Self-Governance, Social Entrepreneurship, Traditional Craft, and Alternate Energy. Fellows work in one of these areas according to their interests.
Prospective fellows are encouraged to seize this opportunity to make a tangible impact, leveraging their skills and creativity to drive positive change in rural India.
The programme has seen enthusiastic engagement from young applicants from major metropolitan cities in India, OCIs, and citizens of Nepal and Bhutan. It has made a significant impact, with a growing alumni network of over 580 individuals, affecting more than 150,000 lives in over 250 villages across 20 states in India over the past 13 years.
The project also influences youth in their future academic pursuits. About 70% of YFI alumni have pursued meaningful careers in the social sector, working in Rural Development, Public Policy, Governance, Academia, and more. Over 100 alumni have pursued higher studies in development domains, and more than 40 have started social ventures post-fellowship.
