KATHMANDU: Non-Resident Ambassador of Romania to Nepal, Daniela Mariana Sezonov Tane, unveiled her highly anticipated novel, 'Twilight Chronicles: A Journey through India, Nepal, and Sri Lanka', at a launch event held in Kathmandu on Tuesday. The book was officially released by Bagmati Province Governor Deepak Prasad Devkota.
The event saw the presence of notable figures including the chief guest, Governor Devkota, Narayan Bajaj, Honorary Consul of Romania in Kathmandu, and Anil Chitrakar, a social entrepreneur and thought leader in Nepal.
In his address, Governor Devkota expressed his gratitude to the author for highlighting the beauty of various places, including remote areas in Nepal. He believed the book would attract not only European tourists but also English-speaking visitors from other countries to Nepal.
Ambassador Sezonov Tane shared her admiration for Nepal and its people, mentioning that the natural colours of the country are indescribable. She also mentioned that Romania has become an attractive job destination for Nepalis, with over 20,000 Nepalis currently working there.
Honorary Consul Bajaj praised Ambassador Tane for her efforts in introducing Nepal and its people through her book.
Ambassador Sezonov Tane, who also oversees co-certification for Nepal and Sri Lanka while based in New Delhi, previously served in Nepal with the Red Cross before beginning her diplomatic career in Romania.
The book launch event featured engaging discussions, readings from the novel, and a Q&A session with the author. Guests had the opportunity to meet Ambassador Sezonov Tane and purchase signed copies of 'Twilight Chronicles'.
"I am honoured to share this story with the people of Nepal," said Ambassador Sezonov Tane.
