KATHMANDU: Great Wall Motors (GWM) Nepal has commenced bookings for its highly anticipated TANK brand vehicles, including the luxurious 7-seater SUV TANK 500 and the 5-seater SUV TANK 300, both featuring HEV technology.
The TANK brand debuted at the Chengdu Auto Show on 29 August 2021 and was officially launched in China on 18 March 2022. Since then, it has achieved significant global success and sales.
Representing GWM's premium off-road vehicles, the TANK brand aims to set a new trend for SUVs. The letters 'T' and 'U' hold deep meanings: 'T' stands for TANK brand, 'technology', and 'trend', while 'U' symbolises 'user' and 'united'.
The TANK 500 and TANK 300 models have been introduced in major markets such as Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand, receiving excellent feedback from users.
Under GWM's innovation strategy, the TANK brand aims to elevate digitalisation and driver experience. GWM offers a 'beyond off-road' experience by introducing new, reliable, and high-quality vehicle models.
In Nepal, the TANK 300 and TANK 500 are available with a 2.0L turbo petrol HEV engine and 9-speed automatic transmission, offering 258 kW peak power and 648 Nm torque. The TANK 300 is priced at Rs 18.5 million, while the TANK 500 is priced at Rs 22.5 million.
