Flood-affected families in Lumbini relocated to safer zones

LUMBINI: A total of 109 people have been moved to safer areas in Lumbini Province following recent floods. According to the Disaster Division of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the provincial government's disaster department has relocated flood victims from Parasi, Palpa, Rupandehi, Gulmi, and Rolpa districts.

Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya stated that all three security agencies, the Red Cross, volunteers, and the general public are involved in the effective implementation of the disaster response plan. This plan is being facilitated through cooperation among the Nepal Police, Armed Police Force (APF), Nepali Army, and local communities.

The provincial government, along with security agencies and local authorities, is also advancing relief and rehabilitation efforts for those in need. Gangadhar Pandey, information officer of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Law, reported that landslide-affected individuals have been relocated to safer areas, and rehabilitation work is progressing in various locations across the province.
