KATHMANDU: Three roads obstructed by landslides following torrential rain have reopened: Hetauda-Bhainse, Simbhanjyang-Palung-Naubise, and Hetauda-Sindhuli-Dharan-Chatara.
According to the District Police Office (DPO), traffic has resumed on these roads along the Madan Bhandari Highway since this morning. Additionally, the Hetauda-Bhaise-Chitlang-Chandragiri-Kathmandu road along the Tribhuvan Highway has been operational since Sunday evening.
Acting spokesperson Police Inspector Thakur Prasad Sapkota stated that road traffic has been restored after clearing landslide debris. However, the road remains blocked in Daman, Thaha Municipality-5, Makawanpur, and is still obstructed at Ghattepakha of Bakaiya Rural Municipality-12, Lamrang, and Ampachaur in the rural municipality's ward no. 11.
Inspector Sapkota also reported that the Kulekhani-Fakhel-Pharping road of Indrasarovar Rural Municipality-3 is completely blocked due to a landslide at Ram Chandra Bhanjyang along the Dakshinkali-Chhaimle-Sisneri road. The Thankot-Kulekhani road section is disrupted due to a landslide at Simlang in Indrasarovar Rural Municipality-1 on the Kulekhani-Markhu inner road section.
Furthermore, the road connecting Hetauda-Kulekhani is blocked due to landslides at Ratomate in Bhimphedi Rural Municipality-4 and Dhokaphedi in Bhimphedi-6. Efforts are ongoing to clear landslide debris from other blocked roads, he added.
