KATHMANDU: Holiday Inn Express Kathmandu launched a series of community-focused activities to celebrate 'Giving for Good' Month this September. These initiatives embody the spirit of compassion, giving and unity, aligning with IHG's global mission to create meaningful change.

Throughout September, IHG colleagues worldwide joined forces to give back, showcasing true hospitality for good. The events aimed to foster connections, support those in need, and positively impact the local community.

One notable initiative saw each drink ordered at Holiday Inn Express Kathmandu directly supporting a local charity. Funds raised from this initiative were to purchase stationery and educational materials for underprivileged and orphaned students at Tri-Padma Vidyashram Secondary School.

On September 21, the hotel team embarked on the 'Hike, Heal, and Clean' adventure, exploring the Shivapuri trails. This activity promoted wellness and teamwork among employees while reinforcing the hotel's commitment to environmental conservation. The team cleaned the trails, collected plastic bottles and litter, and raised awareness about maintaining a litter-free environment.

Likewise,  on September 27, the hotel hosted the 'Table of Hope' event, an inspiring evening blending live music, gourmet cuisine, and the spirit of giving. Guests purchased tickets to enjoy the evening, knowing their participation contributed to a meaningful cause. The event raised Rs 295,000 and donated the sum to Nepal Children’s Organization (Balmandir). The cheque was handed over by the Board of Directors of Swornim Boutique Hotel and the General Manager of Holiday Inn Express Kathmandu, Karthi VK. This contribution was made to support the organisation’s efforts to provide education, shelter, and care to underprivileged and orphaned children across Nepal.

Starting from September 2024 through September 2025, Holiday Inn Express Kathmandu will deliver freshly baked pastries to the Disabled Rehabilitation Center in Gokarneshwor, Nepal, on the first Sunday of every month. These 'Sweet Sundays' aim to bring warmth and joy to the children, reflecting the hotel’s commitment to spreading kindness and hospitality.

This event offered the children a chance to experience the warmth and elegance of hospitality, creating lasting memories and reminding them they are cherished members of the community.
