KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Home Affairs has said the death toll from the recent flooding and landslides has risen to 239, with 19 individuals still missing as of Thursday evening.
Ministry Spokesperson Rishiram Tiwari stated that 177 people have sustained injuries due to the monsoon-induced disasters. Additionally, 17,131 individuals have been rescued from the affected areas.
The government has prioritised rescue and relief operations. Efforts are ongoing to restore vehicular movement by repairing highways damaged in the recent monsoon-related disasters.
The highways and road networks in Bagmati Province have witnessed serious damages in the disasters, authorities said.
