KATHMANDU: Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Ncell, has been honoured with 'Women’s Tabloid Awards 2024' in the ‘Best Woman Sustainability Leader-Telecom’ category. This award, presented by the UK-based publication Women's Tabloid, recognises Khadka's exceptional contributions and influence in the industry.
The award highlights the significant, impact-driven social initiatives championed by Ncell, a responsible corporate citizen, in areas such as health, education, environment, and disaster response and preparedness.
“This recognition is a testament to our team’s consolidated efforts and our impact-driven social initiatives being acknowledged on an international platform. With the launch of the Ncell Foundation, we are committed to continuing our journey of creating positive and lasting change in our communities, contributing to socio-economic development, and supporting the government in achieving sustainable development goals (SDGs),” said Khadka.
Ncell has implemented over 100 projects nationwide, directly and indirectly impacting more than 13 million Nepalis. Key initiatives include the landscaping and greening of the 10.2 km-long Koteshwor-Kalanki stretch of the Ring Road, a Telemedicine and Health Informatics Programme in collaboration with Dhulikhel Hospital, the establishment of 60 high-tech IT Digital Labs in government schools, and the 18 for 18 social initiatives covering all provinces.
On its 19th anniversary, Ncell announced the launch of the '19 for 19 project', where the Ncell Foundation will undertake 19 social projects at the community level across all seven provinces. Since its inception, the company has contributed over Rs 2 billion to social projects and has received numerous national and international awards for its contributions to socio-economic development.
