Aloft Kathmandu Thamel completes 'Road to Give’ walkathon

KATHMANDU: Aloft Kathmandu Thamel has announced the successful completion of its ‘Road to Give’ Walkathon, held on October 5, 2024. The event raised funds to support charitable organisations such as Pabitra Samaj Sewa, The Orphans Homes, and Oxsa Nepal Animal Welfare Society, all affected by the recent floods.

‘Road to Give’ (RTG) is a global charity running event initiated by Marriott International under the Serve360 initiative. This initiative reflects Marriott's commitment to making the communities they operate in better places to live, work, and visit, focusing on resilient, sustainable development through investment in children, natural resources, and aid during times of need. The event saw enthusiastic participation from the local community, successfully fostering unity and giving back to those in need.

A significant number of individuals gathered early in the morning at Aloft Kathmandu Thamel to kick off the walkathon, which took them through the streets of Naxal in solidarity with those affected by the devastating floods in Nepal. Participants included hotel guests and local residents, all walking with a shared purpose: to raise awareness and contribute towards rebuilding lives.

The day concluded with a small ceremony at the courtyard of Chhaya Center, where all participants were commended for their efforts in making a difference. The atmosphere was one of solidarity, compassion, and hope for a brighter future for the flood-affected families.
