Hydropower companies, financial institutions donate to disaster relief fund

KATHMANDU: Domestic and foreign hydropower companies and financial institutions have contributed monetary support to the Prime Minister Disaster Relief Fund.

The companies and financial institutions handed over cheques of various amounts to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli today at his official residence in Baluwatar.

According to the Prime Minister's secretariat, RP Goyal from India's largest hydropower company, National Hydropower Corporation (NHPC), provided Rs 10 million. Prashant Sharma, Chief Executive Officer of Arun-III Jal Vidyut Project, also contributed Rs 10 million. Prabhu Bank Chairman Devi Prasad Bhattachan and Prime Commercial Bank Chairman Rajendra Das Shrestha donated Rs 10 million and Rs 3.1 million, respectively.

Additionally, Rs 2.5 million was received from Prabhu Insurance Chairman Rajendra Malla, Rs 2.5 million from Shiksha Bhattachan, Chairman of Prabhu Mahalakshmi Life Insurance, and Rs 2.5 million from LP Bhanu Sharma, Chairman of Prabhu Capital.

Prime Minister Oli expressed his gratitude to all contributors, acknowledging their support for the relief of people affected by the disaster.
