Bajaj Dominar 400 riders embark on expedition to Umling La

KATHMANDU: A group of Bajaj Dominar 400 riders has embarked on a 20-day expedition to Umling La — the world's highest motorable road at 5,883 metres (19,300 feet). The journey, titled 'The Great Himalayan Odyssey', will cover over 6,000 kilometres. Starting from Bikers Café in Naxal, Kathmandu, this expedition marks a significant milestone in Nepal’s motorcycling culture, showcasing the endurance and resilience of riders and their machines.

Amit Raj Chalise, Head of Marketing at Bajaj Motorcycles, expressed his excitement: "We are thrilled to see our Bajaj Dominar riders take on this monumental challenge. Reaching the highest motorable road in the world, Umling La, will be a testament to the durability of the Dominar 400 and the adventurous spirit of these riders. I commend the team for their trust in their motorcycles and their perseverance to push beyond limits and accomplish this cross-country adventure."

Team captain Manish Devkota shared his anticipation before the expedition: "Reaching Umling La has been a dream for many riders, and it’s finally coming true for us. We are prepared for the challenges ahead and have full confidence in Dominar motorcycles and our riding skills. This is not just a journey but a statement of courage and passion. We thank everyone for their unwavering support and encouragement."

The expedition including a group of nine riders is a powerful demonstration of the prowess of Bajaj Dominar 400 motorcycles and the determination of Nepali riders. The journey through the challenging terrains of the Himalayas to the highest motorable pass in the world is set to be an inspiring adventure of endurance and skill.

The Great Himalayan Odyssey, which began on October 15, 2024, promises to bring pride to the entire motorcycling community of Nepal.
