BHADRAPUR, JHAPA: Mechi Customs Office has collected over Rs 3.58 billion in revenue during the first quarter of the fiscal year 2024/25. With this the customs office has achieved 20.69% of its annual target.
The customs office aims to collect a total of Rs 17.34 billion this year, according to customs officer Ganapati Kandel. This first quarter collection is Rs 190 million higher than the corresponding period last fiscal year, which saw Rs 3.39 billion collected.
In the previous fiscal year, only 78.4% of the revenue target of Rs 18.25 billion was met. Meanwhile, the revenue target for this year has been reduced by Rs 910 million.
