KATHMANDU: Secretary of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Baikuntha Aryal, has informed that the ministry has begun adopting digital systems in 90% of office work.
Releasing magazine 'Prabidhi' published by Technology Journalists' Forum in Kathmandu on Monday, Secretary Aryal said the government facilities will be brought to IT system in order to ensure prompt and reliable public service delivery. The Secretary further said the government would develop and expand IT with the cooperation and collaboration of private sectors.
According to him, if the entire business system goes digital, it will bring change to the entire production and supply system.
On the occasion, Chairperson of Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), Purushottam Khanal, said although the internet and telephone facilities were the luxury items, these have now turned into essential things. NTA was established to regulate broader issues of IT, he added.
