Industry Minister reiterates commitment to construct dry port

DODHARA CHANDANI, KANCHANPUR: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, has stated that the construction of a dry port in Dodhara Chandani, Kanchanpur district, will commence soon. 

During his inspection of the proposed site today, Minister Bhandari stated that progress on the project is expected within a couple of months, as the Council of Ministers has already granted permission to use the land of Mayapuri community forest, the buffer zone of Shuklaphanta National Park, for the construction of the dry port.

Minister Bhandari also mentioned that the government plans to open the Taklakot point in Bajhang and the Tinker transit point in Darchula. He added that this initiative is expected to benefit not only Sudurpashchim Province but also contribute to the nation's economic growth.
