WASHINGTON DC: Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Bishnu Prasad Paudel has called for international support to mitigate the impacts of climate change, emphasising that Nepal has suffered significantly from its effects.
Speaking at a high-level meeting on biodiversity organised by the World Bank Group and Colombia, Finance Minister Paudel highlighted the challenges faced in conserving Nepal's water resources and natural diversity due to climate change.
Stating that Nepal has contributed very little to climate change, Finance Minister Paudel urged the international community to ensure financing for climate-friendly initiatives in Nepal.
Paudel also stressed the need for effective mobilisation of mechanisms established to reduce the impacts of climate change.
