WASHINGTON DC: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Bishnu Prasad Paudel has called on the Nepali diaspora in the USA to support the current government's efforts to develop the country. Minister Paudel highlighted that the government, formed through collaboration between CPN (UML) and the Nepali Congress, aims to ensure political stability and advance development initiatives.
Attending the annual meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington DC, Minister Paudel urged the Nepali diaspora to invest in their homeland. The interaction was organised by the Embassy of Nepal in Washington DC.
Minister Paudel emphasised that the current government is committed to fulfilling the people's aspirations and progressing towards prosperity. He encouraged the diaspora to utilise their skills, capital, and knowledge in Nepal, citing ample investment opportunities in energy, tourism, and information technology. He assured that the government prioritises facilitating investors.
Responding to participants' queries, the Finance Minister urged them to invest with confidence, highlighting the favourable investment environment in Nepal with assured returns. Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) President Chandra Prasad Dhakal also spoke at the event, stressing the need for more capital for Nepal's economic and social development, and the essential support of non-resident Nepalis.
During the interaction, participants inquired about Nepal's tax system, investment-friendly environment, employee performance, and technology, among other topics.
