BIRGUNJ, PARSA: Imports and exports via the Birgunj transit point have recorded a decline in the first three months of the current fiscal year 2024/25.
According to Birgunj Customs Office, goods worth Rs 143 billion were imported during this period, which is 6.43% decrease compared to Rs 153 billion in the same period last year.
Chief Administrator Deepak Lamichhane at the office attributed the slight decrease in imports to torrential rains that affected the country. However, overall revenue collection has increased during these three months.
Similarly, goods worth Rs 7.7 billion were exported via the Birgunj transit point in the first three months, compared to Rs 8 billion during the same period last year.
