KATHMANDU: The Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRNA) is set to hold its annual general meeting (AGM) and Global Conclave 2024 with the slogan 'Transformation and Unity: Honoured Labour, Investment in Nepal and Continuity of Citizenship' in Kathmandu today.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to inaugurate the conclave, which will see the participation of more than 500 individuals from both home and abroad, according to NRNA General Secretary Gauri Raj Joshi. Representatives from various countries have arrived in Kathmandu to participate, and all necessary preparations have been completed.
The first day of the event will include discussions on infrastructure building for economic transformation in Nepal, NRNA citizenship, voting rights and Gurkhas, foreign nationals of Nepali origin, the impact of climate change on women and children, and the transfer of science, knowledge, and technology for a prosperous Nepal.
On the second day, sessions will focus on the empowerment of migrant youths for nation-building, ensuring safe, orderly and dignified foreign employment and social security, as well as tourism promotion policy, expectations, challenges, and the role of the NRNA.
