RASUWA: Chinese authorities have intensified preparations to bring the Rasuwagadhi-Kyirong international highway into operation from Monday onwards. The highway was closed due to landslides triggered by torrential rain in September.
Rasuwa's Chief District Officer (CDO), Arjun Poudel, stated that his Chinese counterpart informed him via telephone today that the reconstruction of the road on the Chinese side, damaged by the landslides, will be completed by Sunday. Consequently, traffic is expected to resume on Monday.
Navaraj Dhakal, Consul General at the Consulate General of Nepal in Lhasa, has facilitated the resumption of obstructed traffic to aid trade and business between Nepal and China.
