KATHMANDU: Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies, Damodar Bhandari, has reiterated the government's commitment to creating a favourable environment for non-resident Nepalis (NRNs) to invest in Nepal.
Addressing the Non-Resident Nepali (NRN) Day Celebration, Global Conclave, and AGM 2024, themed 'Transformation and Unity: Honoured Labour, Investment in Nepal and Continuity of Citizenship', Minister Bhandari emphasised the government's desire to strengthen cooperation with NRNs for the development and prosperity of Nepal.
He expressed hope that the conclave would provide valuable feedback to the government for advancing policy reforms on various issues, including the franchise for the Nepali diaspora, investment, foreign employment, and social security. Minister Bhandari reiterated that the government prioritises attracting NRN investment to Nepal and welcomed the establishment of the NRN Development Fund to attract capital and technology to the country.
The Industry Minister further added that Nepal aims to maximise the benefits from NRNs' skills and income secured from the world market for the socio-economic transformation of the country.
