NCC, Chinese federation sign agreement to facilitate investment, trade

KATHMANDU: An agreement has been reached between Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) and All China Federation of Industry and Commerce Yunnan, China, to facilitate investment and trade.  

Entrepreneurs leading various commercial sectors in Yunnan Province recently discussed investment and trade facilitation with NCC office bearers, including President Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal.

President Agrawal requested Chinese businesspersons to propose initiatives that can promote mutual benefit and identify potential investment areas in the industry, trade, and service sectors. According to a press release issued by the NCC, there was a significant discussion between the private sectors of the two countries about various options for bilateral investment and business partnerships in infrastructure construction, real estate, business growth, tea, industrial development, and cultural sectors.

NCC President Agrawal urged Chinese businesspersons to invest in Nepal and promised that the NCC would take initiatives to ensure a favourable investment environment and returns from investment in Nepal. "I urge Chinese investors to invest in various sectors in Nepal," Agrawal said, promising that the NCC would facilitate the return on investment. Agrawal emphasised the need to increase B2B visits and cooperation. He also informed investors that the political stability and legal situation in Nepal is improving, making the environment more suitable for investment.

NCC President Agrawal stressed that both Nepal and China should gain economic benefits through investment and business partnerships. He also invited Chinese entrepreneurs to visit Nepal.
