KATHMANDU: Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Dipak Khadka, currently on a visit to India, held a meeting with Indian Union Minister of Jal Shakti, CR Patil, at the Ministry of Jal Shakti in New Delhi today.
During the meeting, the ministers discussed various matters of mutual interest, including the implementation of the Pancheshwar Multipurpose Project (PMP), flood control, and human resource development, according to Minister Khadka's private secretariat.
Minister Khadka requested a meeting of the joint committee on flood and risk management between Nepal and India to finalise the detailed project report (DPR) of the PMP as soon as possible. He also expressed gratitude to the Indian government for completing the canal construction from Tanakpur to the Nepal-India border.
In response, Minister Patil agreed to expedite the DPR of the PMP. A representative from the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi also participated in the meeting.
