KATHMANDU: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, extended his best wishes to Nepal University for becoming a cynosure for students worldwide.
At a programme organised by the university in Lalitpur on Wednesday, DPM Paudel expressed his confidence that the university would rise to global prominence.

Reaffirming the government's utmost support for the university, DPM Paudel, however, underscored the importance of the university becoming self-sufficient and building its own strength rather than solely relying on government aid.
Acknowledging the difficulties and complexities faced while establishing the university despite obtaining legal status, DPM Paudel was confident that the university would cater to human needs and fulfil its objectives.
Similarly, Professor Robert Bullard, Chairperson of the International Advisory Board of the University of Nepal Development Board and Professor at the University of British Columbia in Canada, expressed his confidence that Nepal University could play a crucial role in curbing the brain drain of talent in Nepal.

According to him, Nepal University will not affiliate with any colleges or campuses. Instead, it will focus on enhancing the quality of its faculty and teaching-learning activities and promoting international collaboration for research and studies.
Also speaking at the programme, Laxmi Pandey, Chairperson of the National Association of Rural Municipalities in Nepal, congratulated the university on its official establishment following the endorsement of the related Act.
She was confident that the university would be able to produce conscious and creative human resources, thereby contributing significantly to nation-building efforts.
