COLOMBO: Sri Lanka has earned over $2.5 billion from tourism in the first 10 months of 2024, marking a significant 59% increase compared to the corresponding period of 2023, state media reported on Monday.
Sri Lanka earned $185.6 million from tourism in October 2024, up from $136.7 million in October 2023, according to the Daily News.
The country has seen over 1.6 million tourist arrivals in the first 10 months of 2024, a 44% increase compared to the same period in 2023, according to state media.
Tourism is a key foreign revenue generator for Sri Lanka, which expects to attract 2.3 million tourists this year and 3 million in 2025.
