KATHMANDU: Qatar Airways has commenced flights from Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA) today.
An Airbus 330 aircraft from Doha landed at GBIA this afternoon, according to the GBIA Office.
General Manager of Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), Pratap Babu Tiwari, stated that Qatar Airways has started its commercial flights with the Airbus 330 at GBIA for the first time.
Qatar Airways will now operate a regular flight on the Doha-Bhairahawa-Kathmandu-Doha route.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has granted permission to operate flights to and from GBIA until 30 November.
With this addition, the number of airlines operating flights from GBIA has reached five. Nepal Airlines, Fly Dubai, Thai AirAsia, and Jazeera Airways had already commenced their services at GBIA prior to this.
