KATHMANDU: Foton Nepal has announced the launch of its best-in-class Mountain EV, marking a milestone with a record-breaking 100 deliveries upon its introduction.
Specially designed to meet Nepal's unique terrain requirements, the Mountain EV features a 53.58kWh battery, providing a range of 300km on a full charge New European Driving Cycle (NDEC). It boasts a peak power of 130kW, a maximum torque of 330Nm, and an impressive 25% gradability, making it the first of its kind in Nepal with these advanced features.
In a statement, Vivek Sikaria expressed his enthusiasm: “Today, at MAW Vriddhi, we are thrilled to introduce the Foton Mountain EV Van — an innovative electric vehicle poised to revolutionise Nepal's mobility landscape. The Mountain EV comes with unparalleled features, tailored for Nepal’s demanding roads.”
Tushar Gupta, CEO of MAW Vriddhi Group, highlighted Foton's proven track record, stating, “Foton has been the top brand in China for 19 consecutive years, achieved the highest EV bus sales in India, exported over 900,000 commercial vehicles, and held leading positions across South America. The Mountain EV is a champion in its class, made for Nepal.”
The Mountain EV is available in 14- to 16-seater configurations, offering a spacious interior with a high roof for greater headroom.
