KATHMANDU: Nepal Telecom (NT) has introduced a new robotic service to enhance customer support and improve operational efficiency.
The robot, named 'Maina', was launched today at the NT office in Sundhara, according to Office Chief Dinesh Chandra Panthi. It is currently a demo version and will be employed at a later stage.
The initiative aims to systematise the growing workload on staff, as the office handles an average of 200-300 customers daily. With a limited workforce, managing the influx of visitors has become increasingly challenging. The robot will assist customers with general inquiries and provide answers to over 600 NTC-related questions.
Additionally, plans are underway to integrate advanced technology into the robot to further enhance its service capabilities. Maina is capable of communicating in both English and Nepali, making it accessible to a wider range of customers.
