DAMAULI: Chhirkane-Deurali road section along the under-construction Muglin-Pokhara section of the Prithvi Highway will remain closed for four and a half hours daily for the next 20 days, starting today.
Traffic will be halted daily from 11:00 pm to 1:00 am in the first phase and from 1:30 am to 4:00 am in the second phase to facilitate road widening works. Construction is being carried out in two phases, closing the road section from Byas Municipality-12, Chhirkane to Deurali along the Prithvi Highway.
Project engineer Bishnu Prasad Pandey stated that the road section under the Muglin-Pokhara Road Project (Eastern Section) will be completely halted from November 18 to December 8 to expedite construction work. Special arrangements will be made to allow vehicles to pass in case of emergencies.
Pandey explained, “To expedite road construction in the eastern section of the Muglin-Pokhara Road Project, the movement of non-essential vehicles will remain completely closed during this period.”
Currently, 68% progress has been made in the eastern section of the Muglin-Pokhara road. According to Pandey, 14 small bridges, two large bridges, and 103 culverts have been installed along the eastern section.
Construction work in the eastern section began on April 15, 2021, following the contract signing on January 1, 2020. China Communications Construction was awarded the contract for the construction in the eastern section.
