KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development (MoALD) has begun collecting data on the losses and damages caused by recent floods and landslides in the agricultural sector.
Information Officer at MoALD, Mahanand Joshi, stated that the details of the damage have been gathered through the province-based agricultural offices.
The government plans to provide support to affected farmers in coordination with various donor agencies and development partners after assessing the details of their losses.
Joshi informed that districts including Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Nawalpur, Baglung, Khotang, Jhapa, Kailali, Lamjung, Parbat, Kaski, Syangja, Sindhuli, Makawanpur, and Kavrepalanchok have been severely impacted by the recent disasters.
According to MoALD, the damage caused by the floods is estimated to be around Rs 6 billion.
