KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has stated that the Nepal Premier League (NPL) will significantly contribute to promoting tourism and showcasing youth talent on the international stage.
Unveiling the NPL Trophy at the historic Dharahara premises in Kathmandu today, the Prime Minister assured the government's cooperation and support for the NPL. PM Oli affirmed that the government stands with the players for the development of the sports sector.
He expressed his belief that the NPL would introduce a new dimension to Nepali cricket. "Cricket is the dream and a source of pride for our present generation. Let us add a new dimension to Nepali cricket through this league. The government is with you. My interest and support will always be there, whether I am in the government or not," Prime Minister Oli said, extending his best wishes to all the participating teams for their success.
He also expressed his hope that the NPL would reveal youth talent and establish the belief that Nepalis can achieve great things if given the opportunity.
