KATHMANDU: Golchha Organisation and Sharda Group inaugurated a DC Fast Charging Station Network at Siddhartha Riverside Resort in Chumlingtar, Kurintar, Bagmati Province, on Thursday.

This inauguration marks a significant step forward for Nepal’s electric vehicle (EV) ambitions and enhances the sustainable travel experience for customers of Nissan, Omoda & Jaecoo, Zeekr, Leapmotor, Citroën, and Peugeot.

Krishna Prasad Pokhrel, General Manager of After Sales at Sharda Group, and Kiran Rimal, General Manager of Siddhartha Hospitality, inaugurated the charging station in Chumlingtar, emphasising the importance of sustainable infrastructure for promoting EV use and supporting zero-carbon emission goals.

The newly inaugurated charging station offers a DC Fast Charging facility catering to modern travel needs. The project aims to transform highway travel into a hassle-free experience and reduce carbon emissions.

The event concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and discussions on the future of sustainable travel. This initiative aligns with Golchha Organisation and Sharda Group's commitment to promoting electric mobility solutions.

Currently, over 16 fast-charging networks are in operation across the country. With the increasing adoption of EVs, the need for accessible and reliable charging infrastructure has become more critical.

Charging stations are currently located at three sites each in Pokhara Metropolitan City, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, and Bharatpur Metropolitan City; two locations in Biratnagar Metropolitan City; and one each in Nepalgunj, Butwal, Birgunj, Birtamod, and Bardibas, with the addition of the charging station in Kurintar.

This initiative focuses on establishing charging stations in key locations, making it easier for EV owners to travel confidently.
