KATHMANDU: Ncell Foundation has announced that it will donate educational materials to students of community schools in rural and remote parts of the country for every four runs scored during the Nepal Premier League (NPL).
"Cricket unites everyone. Through this initiative, we want to positively impact students' lives in rural and remote underprivileged areas," said Bishakha Lakshmi Khadka, Head of Corporate Communications and CSR at Ncell.
The foundation will distribute the educational materials in coordination with the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN), local authorities, and stakeholders.
It should be noted that CAN has already entered into a partnership agreement with Ncell for the NPL. Under this partnership, Ncell and Siddharth Bank are the 'Powered By' partners of the Nepal Premier League.
Meanwhile, Chitwan Rhinos, one of the eight franchise-based teams competing in the NPL, will provide a free bus service for supporters who wish to travel from Chitwan to Kathmandu on match days.
Five passenger buses will be arranged to transport supporters with match tickets from Chitwan Medical College to Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur and back.
Chitwan Rhinos will play their first match against Kathmandu Gurkhas on December 2.
