LUMBINI: Lumbini Province Chief Minister, Chet Narayan Acharya, stated that the provincial government is working to ensure public service delivery for visas, labour permit approval, health check-ups, and other services to support the regular operation of Gautam Buddha International Airport (GBIA).

Speaking at an interaction programme on 'Sustainable Operation, Investment and Possibilities of Gautam Buddha International Airport' on Thursday, Chief Minister Acharya highlighted that international flights from Lumbini have created opportunities for the local community. He urged the federal government to grant the province the authority to manage procedures such as visa issuance and labour permit approval.

Chief Minister Acharya emphasised the creation of an enabling environment for investment following the operation of GBIA and encouraged investors to invest with confidence. He also expressed his willingness to amend laws if they were hindering investment.

Additionally, he stated that the provincial government would organise trips for tourists visiting Lumbini to the Lumbini Tourism Circuit.

The event, jointly organised by Nepal Chamber Lumbini and other organisations, saw participation from entrepreneurs and the business community.

Businesspersons at the event noted that the development of the tourism industry in Lumbini is expected to grow following the commencement of international flights at GBIA.
