KATHMANDU: The China Cultural Centre (CCC) in Kathmandu hosted a China-Nepal tourism promotion event on Wednesday.
The programme, titled 'Nihao China', saw participation from the business community, tourism sector, airline companies, and other stakeholders. It was jointly organised by the CCC Kathmandu Office, China’s national flag carrier Air China, China Southern Airlines, China Eastern Airlines, and the China National Tourist Office in Kathmandu.
Xiao Jiang, Director of the CCC Kathmandu Office, stated that the programme helped Nepali tourism professionals gain a better understanding of Chinese tourism resources and policies. She added that the event also facilitated connections, information sharing, and exploration of future collaboration opportunities between Chinese and Nepali tourism counterparts.
More than 100 Nepali travel and ticketing agents, as well as representatives from Chinese tourist companies including Guangxi Guangda Tourism Investment Company, Tibet Yeti International Travel Service, and Sichuan Mingyan Travel Agency, attended the event.
Director Xiao mentioned that the unique cultures and abundant tourism resources of Nepal and China make their bilateral partnership in the tourism sector beneficial for both countries. She also acknowledged the Nepal Visit Year 2025, noting that it will mark the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Nepal.
Mohan Suwal of the China National Tourist Office shared information about Chinese tourism products, cuisine, cultural and historical heritage, and other attractions.
