KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) Deputy General Secretary and former Finance Minister, Barsha Man Pun, has emphasised the need to increase investment in employment-generating sectors.
Addressing a colloquium organised by the CPN MC Baglung Town Committee today, he mentioned that employment opportunities have been shrinking due to rising investment in unproductive sectors.
The former finance minister also stressed the importance of preventing the brain drain of youths in foreign countries by creating ample job opportunities at home. He highlighted the need for reform in the structure of the democratic system, a change in leadership, and improvements in the party organisation.
The CPN MC leader also recalled the significant contribution of the Maoists in bringing about epoch-making political change in the nation.
