NEW DELHI: India’s wholesale price index (WPI) declined to 1.89% in November, the federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry reported on Monday.
The annual rate of inflation, based on the all-India WPI, stood at 1.89% for November, according to the ministry.
This decline was primarily attributed to increases in the prices of food items, manufacturing, textiles, machinery, and equipment.
The WPI inflation rate was 2.36% in October and 1.91% in September.
WPI inflation, an indicator of prices in the wholesale market, rises or falls mainly due to significant increases or decreases in global commodity prices.
