KATHMANDU: Ncell Foundation is set to provide educational kits to 2,612 students from community schools across Nepal, fulfilling its commitment to linking the excitement of Nepal Premier League (NPL) cricket to educational support.

This impactful initiative, tied to the 653 boundaries hit during the NPL season that concluded on Saturday, demonstrates the Foundation's dedication to transforming the excitement of cricket into meaningful educational aid for underserved communities. The Foundation has committed to allocating four educational kits for every boundary hit during the NPL.

The distribution initiative aims to positively impact students' education by providing essential items such as school bags, notebooks, pencils, sharpeners, erasers, and more. These materials are expected to help alleviate the shortage of resources and contribute to students' learning.

As of the final match at the Tribhuvan University International Cricket Ground in Kirtipur, a total of 653 boundaries were hit. Janakpur Bolts' Lahiru Malintha made the highest contribution, with 140 educational kits from 35 boundaries. Following him were Pokhara Avengers' Andries Gous with 120 kits from 30 boundaries, and Lumbini Lions' Rohit Kumar Poudel with 104 kits from 26 boundaries.

Additionally, Chitwan Rhinos’ Ravinder Bopara and Sudurpaschim Royals’ Saif Zaib each contributed 96 kits from 24 boundaries.

"This season’s NPL has been a milestone in nurturing Nepali cricketing talents. We are thrilled to collaborate with NPL, combining the passion for cricket with a cause that provides essential educational resources to students in need. We extend our congratulations to the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) and thank every player from each team for making this initiative possible. We are committed to working with CAN, all regional teams, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful distribution of 2,612 educational kits," said Bishakha Laxmi Khadka, Head of Corporate Communication and CSR at Ncell.

Cricket, deeply connected to the Nepali community, has added further excitement to this initiative. It empowers society by delivering much-needed support and resources to those in need. To deliver these materials to the targeted students of community schools, Ncell has collaborated with the Karmayog Foundation.

NPL has significantly contributed to the development of Nepal's domestic cricket talent. Ncell's partnership with NPL and the provision of educational kits for each boundary hit aligns with the company's theme, ‘Here for You,’ and its commitment to supporting the development of cricket and sports in Nepal. Ncell Foundation is dedicated to contributing to the prosperity of communities through initiatives that address important social needs.
