RASUWA: The construction of dry port at Timure in Rasuwa district has made significant progress, with 72% of the estimated work now completed.
The dry port, being developed with technical and financial assistance from the Chinese government along the Nepal-China border, has achieved 72% of its target, according to Ashish Gajurel, Executive Director of the Nepal Intermodal Transport Development Board. He shared this update following an inspection visit to the project.
To date, the project has completed an embankment on the bank of the Bhotekoshi River, the entrance gate, access routes, warehouse buildings, and other facilities.
Gajurel stated that the project is expected to be completed by the end of the current fiscal year 2024/25. Once finished, the dry port will feature a joint inspection site, parking facilities for 300 heavy trucks, and 100 small vehicles, among other amenities.
