KATHMANDU: Maina Devi Foundation (MDF), a leading non-profit organisation spearheading environmental initiatives in Nepal, has partnered with Kumari Job, Nepal’s premier job site and HR consulting firm, as the Title Sponsor for the Kathmandu Trash Collection Race (KTCR) 2025.
The KTCR 2025, scheduled for January 11, is more than just a race — it is a movement for change. With a five-kilometre route starting from Tinkune, the event invites participants to pair up, compete, and make an impact by collecting trash along the way. This initiative combines fitness, teamwork, and environmental responsibility, aiming to raise awareness about the importance of greenery and combating climate change.
Sandesh Bhandari, MD of Kumari Job, said, “At Kumari Job, we believe in creating impactful opportunities — not just for careers, but also for a better world. Partnering with Maina Devi Foundation for the Kathmandu Trash Collection Race 2025 reflects our commitment to uplifting communities and safeguarding the environment for future generations.”
KP Khanal, Chairperson of Maina Devi Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm about the collaboration, saying, “The KTCR has grown into a symbol of hope and action in Nepal. This partnership with Kumari Job will amplify our efforts to create cleaner, greener, and more sustainable communities. Together, we are empowering people to make a difference.”
The KTCR 2025 expects to mobilise over 300 volunteers and host more than 3,000 participants, making it one of the largest environmental races in the country. Participants will advocate for sustainability, sending a strong message about the need to preserve and protect our planet.
Since its establishment in 2014, Kumari Job has been a pioneer in bridging the gap between job seekers and businesses, committed to honesty, professionalism, and a deep understanding of client needs. Through this partnership, Kumari Job steps forward not only to support employment but also to actively contribute to building an environmentally conscious community.
The Maina Devi Foundation has actively organised this initiative for the past three years. This year, the race will commence at 7:00 am from Tinkune and conclude at Maitighar, with participants collecting waste along the route. The collected waste will be systematically managed in collaboration with the Kathmandu Metropolitan City, ensuring effective disposal and environmental sustainability, according to the organisers.
