KATHMANDU: Flights across the country have been disrupted by adverse weather conditions, leading to poor visibility. Despite Visual Flight Rules (VFR) flights operating at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA), most airports outside Kathmandu were unable to provide services in the morning.

According to TIA spokesperson Rinji Sherpa, there are no flights to airports outside Kathmandu, except Bhadrapur, Bharatpur, Pokhara, and Surkhet. Both domestic and international flights are operating regularly at Kathmandu Airport. However, some airports with direct flights from Kathmandu have been unable to offer services.

Buddha Air spokesperson Dipendra Kumar Karna stated that flights to Bhadrapur, Bharatpur, Pokhara, and Surkhet are currently operational, but flights to other airports are not feasible due to low visibility. He added that the airport opens late due to heavy fog in the Tarai region.

The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology's Meteorological Forecasting Division reported that the weather is partly to generally cloudy in most parts of the country due to the partial effect of the westerly low-pressure system.
